Delete your data
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This page explains how to delete the data Spotlight holds about you, including everything we obtained from Instagram and Facebook. It is the user data deletion page for the Spotlight Meta app.
Option 1 — disconnect Instagram (instant)
Sign in to Spotlight, open your Profile, and choose Disconnect Instagram.
This takes effect immediately and needs no request to us. It deletes the stored Instagram and Facebook access tokens and the connection record (your Instagram account ID and username, follower count, and the linked Facebook Page’s name and ID), and stops all further data collection from Meta.
What disconnecting does not remove: the posts you already submitted to Spotlight and the metrics recorded for them (caption, link, thumbnail, likes, comments, views, reach, saves, shares) stay on your Spotlight account until you delete it (Option 2).
You can also remove Spotlight’s access from Meta’s side, under Facebook Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations. That stops our access at once; use Option 2 if you also want the stored data deleted.
Option 2 — delete your Spotlight account (instant)
Sign in to Spotlight, open Settings, and under Delete account enter your password and choose Delete my account.
This takes effect immediately and deletes everything listed under “What gets deleted” below. It cannot be undone, so if you are still owed a payout, wait until it has been paid.
Option 3 — ask us to delete your account
If you can’t sign in:
- Email info@hermesimedia.com from the email address on your Spotlight account, with the subject “Spotlight data deletion request”.
- Include your Spotlight username so we can find the account. Deletion cannot be undone, so we act only on requests sent from the address on the account.
- We confirm by email when the deletion is complete, normally within 30 days.
Option 4 — you applied but never got an account
Email info@hermesimedia.com from the address you applied with, and we will delete your application.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile: username, email, password, display name, phone number, Instagram handle, and avatar.
- Your Instagram connection: access tokens, account ID, username, follower count, and linked Page details.
- Your payout contact details.
- Your platform activity: bookings, event proposals, content submissions and their stored metrics (including everything recorded from Instagram), messages, notifications, and the alerts our team received about your activity.
- Your application, if you have one.
What we may keep
If you have been paid through Spotlight, we keep the payment records (amount and date) for legal, tax, and accounting reasons. We remove your name, email, password, phone, handle, and other personal details from the account they belong to, along with the payment notes.
Content you published on your own Instagram account is yours and is not affected — delete it on Instagram if you want it removed.
